Make
It Count Foundation was established in 2007 in Sebring, Florida.
MIC's first project was to help Little Friends Foundation fund and
build the clinic in French Harbour. We are grateful to be a part
of such a wonderful cause and would like to be a continued presence
in the Bay Islands.

Global Healing, UK
Global Healing is a U.S.-based non-profit
organization dedicated to bringing modern medicine to the developing
world. Our goal is to empower a population to take care of its own.
We do this through working directly with local governments, healthcare
providers, businesses, public institutions and private citizens
to not only ensure the success of our program but also make certain
they will attain self-efficiency.
In
2003, Global Healing focused energies on Roatan, a tiny island of
Honduras, the poorest country in Central America. Recognizing the
government was unable to meet the medical needs of the people of
Roatan, Global Healing established a modern pediatric outpatient
clinic available to all Honduran children five days a week. The
clinic is staffed by a rotating volunteer staff of U.S.-trained
doctors.
In 2006, Global Healing donated a 20 foot container full of medical
equipment and supplies for the Roatan Hospital, Little Friends Foundation
coordinated getting the container to the island.
Today, Global Healing & Little Friends Foundation are working
hand-in-hand to facilitate in a better delivery of care to the community
of Roatan.

Medicines for Roatan
Medicines
for Roatan (MFR) is a Honduran charity founded in 2006, in response
to an urgent need for medicines at the public health clinics in
the Bay Islands of Honduras. We founded Medicines for Roatan as
a registered Honduran charity, which monitors the needs, procures
and distributes essential medicines to the public health facilities
in the Bay Islands. We have an amazing local team. And our first
batch of 300 kg of medicines arrived at the hospital in January
2007. It benefited 6,000 patients. In 2008, we will expand to community
clinics at Pandytown and French Harbour. On average 9 out of 10 patients
go home without medicines.
Little Friends Foundation (LFF) assisted MFR in logistics of getting
their first shipment of medication from the mainland to Roatan and
our two clinics will be beneficiaries of MFR 2008 program. LFF &
MFR will work in conjunction to get these much needed medicines
to the people of Roatan.

Roatan Women's Club
Roatan Women's
Club has formed a non-profit organization geared towards
supporting and helping the Women and Children of Roatan, more importantly,
Roatan Women’s Club membership had increased to over 100 +
members.
Our
goal this year (2007-2008) is to fill all the equipment needs provided to us
by Little Friends Foundation and to find the property in which
the Roatan Women's Culb will build it's own shelter.
We
can only achieve our goals with the help and cooperation of our
members and the community, thanks to all of you who have worked
hard in working to achieve these goals this year and we look forward
to providing the women and children of Roatan a safe haven in the
near future. www.RoatanWC.com
